Information Kerala Mission is a pioneering e-governance project of the government of Kerala. Without models to emulate, footprints to follow. It is unique in more than one ways. It is massive, challenging and engrossing. It placed people at the centre. Emphasising capacity building and empowerment. Approaching technology as a means for facilitating change. It is not only about computerising the local bodies. It is about technology application for improving productivity, ensuring better service delivery, guaranteeing faster and objective decision-making, and enhancing accountability. It is more than an e-governance project. It is a promise. A tireless quest towards realising the local governments of our dream. It is driven by a passion to excel.

This site provides details of all births, deaths and marriages electronically registered in Local Governments (Registration units) where SEVANA application software of Information Kerala Mission is being used uninterruptedly for registering these events.

Details of births, deaths and marriages that are registered and recorded in writing will not be available in this site unless that are digitised and ported in the electronic register after verification of the officials.

For any corrections in the entries of the electronic register, please contact the Registrar of the respective Registration unit (Local Government).

The Registration of Births and Deaths Acts 1969 (Central Act 18 of 1969) came into force in Kerala on 1st April 1970 vide Government of India Gazette Notification dated 21st March 1970 along with many other States. The Kerala Registration of Births and Death Rules 1970 was published in G.O.(P) 7/70/LAD dated 29th June 1970 by SRO No.262/70 Gazette dated 1st July 1970 having been approved by the Government of India as laid down in Section 30(1) of the said Act.

Previously in Kerala Births & Deaths registration was carried out by various departments and their officers under provisions of certain regulations likes Madras Act of 1899, Municipal Act and Travancore-Cochin Registration of Births & Deaths Act.

The old system of Registration of births& Deaths involved a lot of paper work at the level of Registrations. This had been adversely affecting the work of registration and the transmission of statistical returns from registration units to the state headquarters. The form and procedures of registration have been revamped with a view to reduce the paper work of the registrars and to quicken the transmission of data/records as well as to make the system amenable to modern technology. In the revamped system of registration, the forms have been completely redesigned and the procedures of registration and submission of statistical returns have been changed.

Marriages that are solemnized in the State of Kerala are governed by The Kerala Registration of Marriages (Common) Rules, 2008. In Kerala, marriage registration can be done online or through the Registrar offices.
