Norka-Roots offers an Educational Scholarship Scheme for children from financially distressed ex-pat families. In addition, children of Pravasi returning from abroad can also benefit from this one scholarship.
The scheme is called the Norka Roots Director’s Scholarship. Children of ECR expatriates working abroad can apply for this. Children of expatriates who have returned from abroad and are facing financial difficulties can also apply for the scheme.
However, only their children who have lived abroad for at least two years can apply for the scholarship. Their annual return from abroad should not exceed Rs. 2,00,000. Scholarships are awarded for pursuing professional courses.
Scholarships ranging from Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000 are available. The scholarship for postgraduate arts and science courses like MA, MSC, MCOM, MBA, and MCA is Rs. 20,000.
Scholarships up to Rs. 25,000 / – are available for professional courses like MBBS, BMS, BAMS, and BDS. Scholarships of Rs 20,000 are available for courses such as paramedical and nursing. This is how scholarships are awarded for agriculture and veterinary courses also.
Applicants for the scholarship must have obtained 60% marks in the qualifying examination for the year 2021-22. Scholarships are available only for those pursuing courses approved by the Universities of Kerala.
The scholarship amount is a one-time payment. Applications are submitted through the www. scholarship norkroots.org website. The last date for submission of applications is February 26. Since 2019, NORKA has been offering such a scholarship program.
